Day 1
Zoey was admitted to Fish Creek Pet Hospital and received care under Dr Scott, including surgery, a splint, and medication.
She was admitted at 10:00am and was home at 9:00pm with instructions to limit her exercise, especially stairs and and jumping. I set a dog kennel up in the bedroom and she settled down part way through the night and started to rest comfortably.
Day 2
Check on Zoey, and see that I have a Teeny Houdini on my hands as she has escaped her splint. Back to Fish Creek we go and we get a new splint. This one is now taped to her leg, she is unimpressed but doing well.
I let her out fa couple times through the day into a blocked off area in the bedroom to help ward off boredom and keep her from losing the rest of her muscles.
That evening she became very restless and distressed with her living situation. At that point I attached her carrier to the kennel and basically make-shifted a little 1 bedroom apartment for my kitty. She was very happy with the upgraded living arrangements and settled in for the night.
Day 3
Started the day off with some pain meds and let her take a short stroll through the house. She was very happy. She is using her leg better and not dragging it today so I am definitely seeing improvement already. Splint is still intact.
Let her stroll again in the afternoon. See ate all her soft food that evening and I have intentions on letting her have 1 more stroll before bed.
Aunty Edie came for a visit and she was so happy to get love from Aunty. Toby on the other hand was less impressed by the love she was giving to Zoey.
Day 4
Had a great morning she was enjoying her walk moving her leg great, like nothing had happened. Besides her complete hatred of the cone, splint and medication she is doing amazing.
Arrived at the Fish Creek Pet Hospital, after receiving an awesome ride from an awesome cab driver who was a complete animal lover, the vet tech grabbed zoey to get her assessed, and change her splint. To everyone's surprise she is healing 1000% faster than expected, and doing so well, they decided to put a stiff bandage on instead of the clunky splint. To put it in perspective the original treatment plan was a possible splint removal in 4 weeks if she is healing ok. I was told to return tomorrow to see the original vet Dr Scott, so she can address the rapid healing and provide a new treatment plan if she feels that Zoey is healing as well as it appears.

Day 5
Zoey has become the little Teeny Houdini again this time escaping the kennel multiple times, not sure how exactly. She is moving great and having a great time moving freely in the house.

After seeing Dr Scott she determined with the amount of moving she is doing the splint is a better way to go to reduce risk of reinjury.
The amazing Techs put on this beautiful Halloween splint.

Day 6
Today is the first day without pain meds, she is moving a little slower, but all in all, she is doing great.
Day 7
Today she is soaking up all the love she can. She is working hard to pull the tape off her splint, which is kind of a good thing, as the tape is a better focus point than the splint itself.
Week 2
Zoey is healing well so far. Made it a full week with only our single booked appointment.

Week 3
Another week gone by, she is still healing amazing but it's still a long road ahead

Week 4
Day before our appointment my little Teeny Houdini got out of her splint again..... at midnight....

Week 5
My poor girl has some blisters on her leg, but they have removed her suchers and she got a new pretty pink splint.

She is less thrilled about it than I am.
Week 6
We got amazing news today, no more splints. Just a bandage. She is doing great. Her leg is stiff and she has a slight limp but is healing amazing. Next week I'll learn some physio-therapy stuff to do with her at home.
